About Us

The Red Oak Lions Club is the oldest service organization in Red Oak chartered in 1949.

In the early 1950's the club built the town's first baseball field and it also put up the first street signs the town had, one of which is still standing at College and Summit Streets.

Today, they sponsor an elementary Student of the Month. The Student of the Month receives a plaque and a $50 Walmart gift card. The Club sponsors two vision clinics each year with complimentary eye exams and glasses for ROISD students who could not otherwise afford them. The club also provides scholarships to deserving Red Oak High School Seniors who have gone above and beyond in volunteerism and or community service during their high school years.

As a community service, the Lions Club; Provides a meeting place for the Senior Citizens Group free of charge; Partners with the City to co-host the Annual City Wide Easter Egg Hunt and hosts the costume contest at the annual Red Oak Fall Festival; Makes annual donations to the Red Oak ISD Education Foundation, Project Success, and the North Ellis County Outreach.

Throughout the year, Lions collect used eyeglasses and deliver them to regional centers where they are recycled and distributed to people in need.

The club is composed of members that volunteer their time to help with many activities and fund raising events.

This club annually supports Lions Club International, the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation, Leader Dogs for the Blind and Texas Lions Camp for Children with Disabilities.
