Maintenance Technician

Will be involved in special projects such as modifying existing equipment or installation of new equipment. Assist the Maintenance Technician 2 to maintain the facility's manufacturing equipment, vehicles, buildings and grounds through the utilization of the Maintimizer CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) work order system. Performs various mechanical job duties in relation to repairing, replacing, installing and/or removing. This position requires on-site presence and regular attendance to perform the essential duties.
Responsibilities:
  • Abides by the company's policies.
  • Thoroughly completes the weekly generated equipment preventative maintenance work orders according to the written instructions under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or an appointed Maintenance Technician Level 2.
  • Assists the Maintenance Technician 2 in troubleshooting, repairing, and providing repairs to return equipment to service.
  • Receives instruction on how to document problems, troubleshooting techniques, repair procedures, and results in order to educate fellow maintenance employees should the circumstance repeat.
  • Learns to scope repair work orders for time and materials needed to complete the task.
  • Completes general maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  • Has a continuing effort to gain knowledge in the trades necessary to execute prompt and reliable service to increase the efficiency of the maintenance department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education and Training
  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
B. General Requirements
  • One (1) - Two (2) years' manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling work priorities, materials and available man hours.
C. Technical Requirements / Skills
  • Able to provide service and repair to the equipment, buildings and grounds as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability. 
  • Able to cooperate; work well with others as a team or independently.
  • Passionate about safety for self and others in the company.
  • Able to self-motivate and multi-task.
  • Able to work with and communicate with all management team members.
  • General knowledge of computer data entry in order to document equipment repair task procedure history in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Able to comprehend instruction either written or verbal from both the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • An understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems, manufacturing processes and materials is a plus.
  • Welding, cutting, brazing, HVAC, Pneumatic Equipment, Hydraulic power systems, electrical wiring up to 480 volt and Computer controlled mechanical systems.
  • Able to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
D. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver's license and record that conforms to company's insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State or other required Hazmat training.
  • Must meet OSHA fork truck driver license requirements.
E. Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
  • Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.
  • Must be US citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the United States (student Visa does not qualify), in accordance with ATF regulations.
